A creation of health resort Ahmanka

The lake Ahmanka is situated in 54 km from Tyumen, in Nizhnya Tavda region. A great scientist Yakovlev discovered Ahmanka’s peloid in the 40s of XX century. He started to explore healing putrid mud. The peloid layer was more than 4 meters.

Yakovlev founded peloid health resort Ahmanka in June 23, 1947. And then Ahmanka became a one of the most popular Russian health resorts. Mud therapy was very effective. By this reason Ahmanka grew into a big health resort. A main building was built in 1955, there was 55 rooms. Yakovlev was awarded the title of Honoured Doctor of the Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic in 1956. Yakovlev's monument was set up on the health resort territory.

 

 

 

 

A health resort Ahmanka was renamed as medical rehabilitation hospital in 1985. And it became Scientific Center for Restorative Medicine and Medical Rehabilitation Ahmanka in 2005.

Nowadays Ahmanka is a very popular health resort in Tyumen region.
